Challenge
Earthmerch is a planet friendly start-up providing the music and entertainment industries with sustainable, ethical and affordable merchandise.
To help with the launch, we were asked to help develop a brand narrative that would enable EarthMerch to better tell its amazing story, create visibility within the industry and help start conversations with those artists, bands and events wanting to demonstrate their eco merch credentials across the supply chain.
Our challenge was to ensure that this wouldn’t become a crusade against inaction but rather to show how EarthMerch could, no matter where they were on their eco journey, strengthen their clients’ connection with fans looking for more environmentally conscious products.
Solution
We set out to simplify what could be a complex environmental and manufacturing story to focus on three key themes: sustainable; ethical; and affordable, defining what these words meant to EarthMerch and the confidence they could carry through to their prospective clients’ eco credentials.
We also reviewed the early identity, adjusting the logo to reflect a more planet friendly theme, refreshing the palette with a more natural colour selection and developing a way for the logo to work well with black – still the favourite colour for much of the merch produced.
The new look and story capture the spirit of the start-up and its overwhelmingly positive attitude and purpose – to show that when enough people take even the smallest steps, they can still bring about a huge, positive change.
